I wanted to title this blog something like "Mile High Ruminant". Something that sounded intellectual, chic, ponderous, maybe even somewhat counter-culture. But then I realized I would have to live up to the name. Not a cud-chewing, regurgitating even-toed mammal, the other ruminant. I think I was once pretty contemplative (or like to believe I was), but I'm not so sure if that is so true anymore. I usually feel like I don't really have much time to think; partly by my schedule and demands of life, and partly by my own doing and how I spend my time.
I think in a portion of my life (the teaching portion) I have to think, act, create quite a bit. But the rest of the time, I think I use about one eighth of my brain.
So this will hopefully become my venue for exercise of the mental sort. We'll see how it goes.
